A must go if traveling nearby! The food was excellent and the service was great! Very large portion sizes! We will be back if ever around again!

The food is tremendous! Half rack of ribs and two massive home made sides for $12.99. I took half of it home because it was so much food. Can't beat the value or quality. I'll definitely be back.

Dang good food after being out in the heat all day. Busy little locale, got the turkey club and the golden sauce was, well golden. Gold stars for the gold sauce 👌

The food here is amazing, just 4 miles off of interstate 64. Portions verses price can't beat them wow. Morgan our waitress was amazing, we had a large group and at first sat outside, then the rain came. Morgan was able to get us seats inside and keep up with the refills and all the other requests our group had. Top notch!!!!!

This used to be a very good place to eat. One of my favorite. The food and service has really went downhill this year.

Food and service was awesome! Smoked turkey and pulled pork! Only thing I didn't love was the brisket was extremely fatty. I'm coming back and ordering a couple loaded fries, because they put pulled pork on top which is phenomenal! Oh and they have honest prices too.

It was busy so service was poor but somewhat understandable , food was very poor , I done the pick 3 the ribs tasted old cold and hard , the brisket was a pile of fat I dug through it and very little meat ,, they was out of a lot of food luke potatoes , sweet potatoes, beans etc need to be better managed

Excellent! Pulled pork, brisket, beans and the service is great! Got the brisket plate with baked beans and veggies. The brisket is sooo good! The beans have a fantastic smoke flavor and meat in them! Served with buttered toast. The veggies were sliced carrots and brocolli👍The sweet sauce is your option of several available. The bill? Very reasonable😊 I love looking at the walls while I eat, lol. Plenty of things to see. Ice cream available. Indoor and outdoor seating and always my kind of Old Country music playing. If you haven't been here, stop by on route 801 just South of U.S. 60 about a couple hundred yards maybe😊👍

This place has the best burger I've ever eaten! The A1 burger is amazing! The BBQ is a well honed craft that accentuates the foods instead of drowning it. The appetizers were sooo good! You owe it to your taste buds and culinary adventurous self to visit these people as their establishment! Erica and Lisa were awe8 servers! Kudos to the BBQ, ice cream, and service!

Great food. Place is always packed, so service is a little slow but well worth the wait.

The wait for the drive thru was about a half hour and they didn't pick up the phone when I tried to call. The ribs were good though.

The brisket and pulled pork were excellent, as was the cole slaw. The environment is interesting, but the people are packed like sardines, and I wouldnt exactly call it the most clean establishment Ive ever eaten at. The cherry on top was the amazing ice cream cone.

Pulled pork was yummy even without sauce. 😋

The service here was excellent. A very kind staff that truly wants you to enjoy your experience. The ambiance is quaint. The food is amazing. Between us all we had ribs, brisket, chicken tenders, a loaded baked potato, sweet potato and washed it all down with sweet tea. Everything served was delicious and cooked to perfection. The smoke and bark was there, without being too overpowered for the kids to enjoy. Bottles of regular and sweet BBQ sauce at every table and a huge selection of various hot sauces. What a great place!

The brisket is always fatty. I've eaten there a few times and Everytime it's fatty. Brisket is my favorite BBQ but not here. Very disappointed.

This ppace has some of the best food in the area with more than reasonable prices. Service was quick and the staff is nice. Outdoor and indoor seating is available also.

Great food with a small but quaint atmosphere! Not very much seating, and the food does take time, BUT the service is GREAT and the food is spectacular! And the portion sizes (esp for the prices) are so large, I love it! I highly recommend the pulled pork and baby back ribs! The hot and sweet BBQ sauces were also on point! I will definitely be returning to Pops the next time I am in the area. Unfortunately I was not able to try the beer cheese, as they were out of it for the day, but I certainly will give it a try next time.

Definitely worth waiting an extra 100 miles for lunch!

Baby backs were a little over cooked but otherwise really good. Waitress was extremely nice, outdoor seating...in short, enjoyed everything!!

Nice little BBQ spot in the middle of nowhere. Stopped in during a road trip. It was amazing. Great service. Clean, quick, reasonably priced. Food was awesome loved this little place.

Bbq was delicious, very generous portion sizes. The loaded pork fries were the family favorite.

The platter portions are quite large and the food was amazing! We got the half rack of ribs and catfish platter which was so good. The service was also super friendly and fast. We waited less than 10 minutes. The loaded fries were top notch but the sautéed mushrooms were more like a soup and had too much pepper. Certain sides may be subpar but overall meal was satisfying. We went back for ice cream later. Seemed a little expensive but definitely great quality ice cream.

By far the busiest restaurant within 50 miles of morehead, you may have to wait but I recommend the blackened Mahi fish sandwich with firecracker sauce, the wings, fire cracker shrimp, beer cheese and pretzels are also really great.

Gorgeous day ,has the Turkey club, piled up with Turkey, didn't like the pickles. Food was good. Hubby had the brisket meal with slaw and fresh cut fries. Hubby didn't like the fresh cut said it was to greasy. But you cant please everyone. Reccomend going if you haven't been

Best BBQ pulled pork I have EVER eaten. The smell is almost as good as everything tasted. Incredible pulled pork yes I intentionally said it twice! The sweet tea was also outstanding!

Yesterday was our first time we visited this fine restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last. We had a good time with the excellent service, with the finest meal and booze and with the decent pay. We will no doubt visit there soon.

Wouldn’t know how the food is. Sat at a dirty table for 15 minutes we were told someone would clean. Cleaned the table ourselves only to have a family sit behind us after we had been there and get their order taken before we ever saw anyone. It’s a shame because the food looked good, service is horrible. We just go up and left.

After swimming in the lake down the road my family and I stopped here and got two pounds of pulled pork, one pound of brisket, a dozen buns, Cole slaw and baked beans all to go. Everything was delicious 😋😋 and perfectly cooked. I wish I had gotten a second container of the baked beans, some of the best I have ever tasted. Also we walked in to place our order to go and the service was awesome and the waitress very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend pop's, I wish I could go there all the time but I live in Chicago suburbs.

Enjoyed the Catfish Fry. Generous serving with two fillets. More than enough and no need to spend more for the all you can eat option. French fries were seasoned and delicious. My wife really enjoyed the chocolate ice cream.

Food very greasy, ordered fried green tomatoes, came burned black, sent back and came back same way, pd $1.00 extra, waitress did not adjust bill. Catfish and shrimp were OK, fries were warm, husbands onion rings were fried until he got only batter, onions disappeared. No burgers were available at 7PM on a Monday PM, I guess no stores were open. Overall not a good experience for our party of 7. Son ordered the Ruben, he said sauerkraut was only resemblance there was to a ruben.

Wings were delicious. Onion rings were delicious. Fries were delicious. Pork BBQ was delicious.

I liked the food. The service was ok. In got a combination plate with ribs, brisket, and firecracker shrimp, with some green beans and fried green tomatoes. The shrimp was really good and everything else was too. This was recommended to me by some locals and I was glad I stopped here.

Good food and friendly service. If you want smaller crowds, come well outside (+/- 2hrs) of normal meal hours.

Me and my husband's first visit. We loved it! We had the ribs and they were delicious. We had enough left for supper the next night and they were just as good. We would highly recommend this place!

We ate here for lunch, and it was fantastic! The positions were huge. I had a half slab of ribs, pork ranch fries, and sauteed mushrooms. The four stars is only because the mushrooms were very strange (more like a peppery soup). The ribs were flavorful and moist, fries were great, and the service was fast. Great experience!

A small place, but the slight claustrophobia you may feel will be completely forgotten once you start eating. The food here is so good I can't help but feel sad when they close for winter. Everything is made fresh in the restaurant and all the smoked meat is made in their smoke house next to the main place. A fantastic place with kind service, delicious food and some of the sweetest homemade icecream you'll ever have.

The people are great and the food is just what you need with a day on the lake. They have indoor and outdoor seating with curbside pickup and a drive thru.

Pretty sad when you and another couple are seated for 15 mins and get no service after being walked past 3 times by one of the waitresses! Then two tables of other people come in and have service within seconds by that same waitress! We literally have had this happen twice now and have been faithful customers for along time! I guess it takes Rita there to get service cause that’s the only time we get it anymore 🤷🏻‍♀️

We dine here regularly. It's almost always crowded, but hands down the best dining experience in the region. Huge portion sizes (two meals in one), reasonable prices. Surprisingly good beer cheese appetizers and don't forget great ice cream for dessert. Dine outdoors if you can. Great atmosphere for barbecue with Southern rock on the speakers. Owner is always experimenting with new entrees, new equipment, really knows his stuff. Dinner for 2, appetizers and desserts, no alcohol is $36.

Hate to give the place three stars because the ribs and beef brisket were spot on. But the baked sweet potatoes were very small, maybe large or extra large egg size. And barely warm. The coleslaw was very warm and I don’t do warm coleslaw. Contains mayonnaise. But again, the ribs and brisket were excellent! Still an excellent restaurant if your looking for some good barbecue.

Nice rustic BBQ place near Cave Run Lake. Small on the inside, but easy parking and even a walk up order window. Menu offers a good variety and prices are great. Inside offers lots of whimsy.
